Finding the Perfect Rose
Inspired by a design he had stumbled across online, he came to me with an idea. He wanted to create a special rose flower ring with earrings to match to give to his wife to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
Working with the photo of the rose flower ring he had found, I got to work sketching some initial ideas and concepts for the rose ring.
After some back and forth, playing around with different ideas, we decided on simple rose drop earrings and two roses sitting side by side for her ring!
Every rose petal for the rose jewellery set needed to be made by hand, so I got to work in the studio. Starting by stamping each disc from thin sheet silver, cutting it into a rough petal shape, annealing it, beat each petal and rolling the edges of each petal back to make sure they looked the part!
The roses were time consuming and a lot of work was involved but it was worth it seeing it start to come together…
Almost ready to be patinaed and polished!
Finally the end result – a perfect rose!!
