Cavan, my adopted County, is a beautiful place with lovely warm welcoming people, rolling drumlins (wee hills) and a lake for every day of the year!

I started doodling and sketching ideas, based on the word "Cavan". Then I tried the Irish version "An Cabhán".

Then I tried the Irish version "An Cabhán".I think of rolling drumlins and lakes when I think of Cavan, so I wanted to create a design that echoed these... After a few sessions of sketching, the letters in each word started to arrange themselves in a more pleasing way.

I liked both, but the Gaelic version with a dot above the letter B ( in old written Irish, the dot above a letter represents a "h" coming next) had the edge...

It's swirling letters and it's proud C, mirrored the many waterways and beautiful Drumlins of County Cavan.
