Goose Girl Pendant
Courier Shipping is available to purchase here.I've always loved the Goose Girl painting in the National Gallery of Ireland, so a few years ago, I engraved a pendant based on it. Only now am I offering it for sale and it seems that lots of people feel the same way as I do about this beautiful evocative painting. There's something so peaceful and calming about this image. She's gently walking her geese through misty woodland dappled with the evening sun, simply gorgeous!!
There's also a mystery about who really painted it, as for years it was thought that Irish artist William Leech (1881 - 1968 ). However after a lot of debate, it is generally accepted that the painting is the work of Lancashire born artist Stanley Royal ( 1888 - 1961 ).
Of course in my version, there is no evening sun as it is sterling silver, but hopefully you will still get that sense of tranquility about the pendant.

Royle painted rustic subjects in a Post-Impressionist style. Here, he presents a girl moving geese through a carpet of bluebells. The setting is believed to be Whiteley Woods near the artist’s home in Sheffield. Royle has applied paint in distinct touches to depict the flowers, grass and dappled light filtering through the trees. His use of complementary colours such as orange and blue is characteristic of Post-Impressionism. Royle’s composition has a still, frieze-like quality which adds to its decorative appeal.
